Following a strong opening, Fantasy.top has become a key talking point amongst crypto investors, especially the gaming community. But what is Fantasy.top and why are crypto enthusiasts raving about it?

An Introduction to Fantasy.top

Fantasy.top is a decentralized trading card game on the Blast network. Fantasy.top gamifies the activity of popular crypto influencers on social platform X (formerly Twitter), sharing a resemblance with Fantasy Sports tournaments but with social media personalities in place of sportsmen. It allows users to bet on the social performance of KOLs in a specified time window.

Influencers on Fantasy.top are known as ‘Heroes’. Fantasy.top selects these influencers (although influencers can apply to be added to the Fantasy.top roster in future cohorts) and develops NFT cards based on certain real-life attributes. Heroes NFTs are ranked according to their social performance and status, although every card has a rarity ranking: Common, Rare, Epic, and Legendary, which adds a multiplier to earned points, where top card levels have higher score multipliers. Prices for cards in the same category may differ, depending on the demand.

Players are required to build up their cards in a pack of five and accrue points according to the performance of the Heroes in the deck within the tournament period.

Heroes’ performance is based on the engagement (including bookmarks) and total impression of their (real) posts on X (Twitter) within this period. Players earn points according to the Hero’s social performance and the card multiplier. The more impressions tweets from Heroes’ on a player’s deck make, the more points they accrue, and the higher their position in the leaderboard. Player points are calculated at the end of each tournament and ranked accordingly.

Heroes earn 1.5% from the trading volume of their card, along with 10% of pack sales revenue (split among Heroes in the pack). They can also opt to share a portion of their rewards with card holders.

Why Is Fantasy.top Popular?

NFT cards of over 160 crypto influencers are currently tradable on Fantasy.top, with over 99 ETH worth of cards are traded on the platform daily according to data from Flipsidecrypto.

Fantasy.top benefits from the social media sphere which it has utilized in its gameplay and promotion, bringing the excitement of Fantasy leagues in sports to crypto. Crypto influencers featured as Heroes in the game have contributed to the fame by spreading the word about the platform to their followers, while gamers are also enticed by the possibility of earning rewards by betting on how active these influencers will be on X during a tournament duration.

The strategy has worked so far with the user influx. The platform also grapples with the attention it is currently gaining and with growing reports of manipulations by players, which caused the project to end its first tournament before the schedule. The platform has continued since then with a range of tournaments, including Common Only tournaments.

Fantasy.top presents an opportunity for crypto enthusiasts to benefit from their knowledge of influencer activity. As an ardent follower of crypto social personalities, you can now bet on how much they tweet and how well their tweets perform in a given window. Want to try? Final Thoughts

Fantasy.top turns your favorite crypto influencer’s engagement statistics into a game that is as exciting as trusting your favorite sports team or player to perform well on a match day. However, it brings the crypto tradition to it, featuring instant and significant rewards, attracting crypto enthusiasts who are active on X. Fantasy.top will probably continue to pursue its mission of bringing more fun to the players and luring more users to the new Blast network. As more tournaments are completed and new ‘heroes’ join the platform, the project could grow to higher levels, and it will be exciting to see these developments.

Having said this, always do your own research. Fantasy.top is still in development, and the concept might undergo some changes in the future. Also, note that this article is only educational and should not be taken as financial advice.
