Altseason 2025 Won’t Be Fair – It Will be Politics Driven

This article is brought to you by FBS.

Altseason 2025 Politics

The biggest altcoin pump of the decade may be coming — and it’s being decided in the White House.

This won’t be the wild, retail-driven chaos of 2021. The rules have changed — and the game won’t be the same.

Who are the chosen ones? And who will be left with the leftovers?

A Quick Trip Back to 2021 Liquidity Flow

In 2021, the liquidity path was straightforward and predictable: fresh money flowed into Bitcoin, then went into Ethereum within weeks, then into large-cap altcoins, before finally flooding mid and low-cap tokens.

Back then, crypto projects only needed about $5 million in market cap to break into the top 1,000 coins, and around $30 million to make the top 500. A few billion dollars of inflow could light up the entire market, triggering dozens of 50x–100x moves. The rotation was fast, retail-driven, and wide-reaching.

In 2025, the market has changed — and the money won’t flow like it used to.

2025: A Different Liquidity Game

Today’s capital is heavier, slower, and far more selective. Most new money enters through highly regulated channels: spot ETFs, corporate treasuries, sovereign wealth funds, and now perhaps even US retirement plans following Trump’s August executive order that allowed crypto, gold, and other alternative assets in 401(k) plans. These flows typically start at Bitcoin, sometimes touch Ethereum, and rarely move further without a compelling institutional narrative.

Even retail money has fragmented and shrunk. Instead of flooding into undervalued alts, it’s chasing meme pre-sales like BOME, short-lived tokens that pump and dump within days, and brand-based tokens like TRUMP. The result: much of the market never sees the inflow at all.

Meanwhile, the market itself has grown heavier. Total3ES — the combined market cap of all altcoins excluding BTC, ETH, and stablecoins — is already touching near record levels even before altseason has truly begun.

Altseason is still ahead, but Total3ES is already near its all-time high — a sign of how heavy the market has become.

Data as of 19th August 2025

In 2021, the top 10 altcoins captured less than half of Total3’s value. By 2025, they hold over 70%. Liquidity hasn’t disappeared — it’s just stuck at the top. That concentration means the rest of the market is fighting for an ever-thinner slice of the pie.

It means the game has flipped. Retail chaos defined 2021, but in 2025 it’s institutions that decide where liquidity will flow. Traders who don’t adapt may miss the real altseason entirely.

The New Variable: What Trump Did to Supercharge Crypto

In 2025, US crypto policy isn’t just noise in the background — it’s a primary driver of capital flows. And no one has moved it more than Donald Trump.

Since returning to the White House, Trump has pushed through the most aggressive pro-crypto agenda in US history. His administration’s actions haven’t just opened the door for institutional adoption — they’ve built a dedicated fast lane for it.

Key moves that changed the game:

  • 401(k) greenlight — In August 2025, Trump signed an executive order allowing cryptocurrencies, gold, and other alternative assets in US 401(k) retirement plans, unlocking access to trillions in potential allocations.

  • Legislative blitz — Signed the GENIUS Bill, with CLARITY, and Anti-CBDC bills possibly on-the way, creating a regulatory framework that finally gives institutions legal clarity to hold and trade digital assets.

  • Regulator overhaul — Appointed crypto-friendly leadership at the SEC, CFTC, and Treasury, turning former gatekeepers into enablers.

  • ETF acceleration — Under his watch, there have been more filings for spot crypto ETFs across a diverse set of tokens, while existing BTC and ETH ETFs have pulled in billions in inflows.

  • Direct network ties — Maintained and expanded personal and campaign connections with major crypto investors, mining companies, exchanges, and projects, placing them closer than ever to policymaking influence.

This isn’t just policy support — it’s political capital being converted into market capital. And it has created a new class of assets: political tokens — coins with structural access to the very pipelines where institutional liquidity flows.

The White House Shortlist: Tokens With Political Leverage

In 2021, altseason was chaotic: every coin down the curve got its moment. In 2025, it’s curated. The capital doesn’t just flow — it’s directed. And Trump’s crypto network may indicate where it may go once rotation begins.

Solana (SOL)

Solana remains one of the fastest and most scalable L1 blockchains, with a thriving ecosystem across DeFi, NFTs, and a booming memecoin culture. But in 2025, its edge isn’t just tech — it’s politics. Trump’s team launched the $TRUMP token directly on Solana, his inauguration committee listed Solana among its sponsors, and pro-ETF chatter has Solana at the front of the line for a potential spot ETF approval.

Solana (SOL) is holding above the key support zone of $160–165 (0.618 Fib) after months of consolidation. RSI has finally broken its long downtrend, signaling that momentum is shifting in bulls’ favor. On top of that, price action is forming an ascending triangle, with higher lows pressing against the same resistance zone — a classic buildup that often resolves in a strong breakout.

If the breakout sustains, the roadmap is clear:

  • $260 — first target (1.0 Fib extension).

  • $328 — secondary resistance (1.272 Fib).

  • $580 — the major target zone (2.272 Fib), in line with the next cycle expansion.

In simple terms, SOL has the political narrative, institutional spotlight, and now the technicals lining up. A weekly close above $200 would likely confirm the breakout and open the path toward $260 and higher targets.

Ondo (ONDO)

Ondo isn’t just another DeFi token — it’s the flagship of the real-world asset (RWA) narrative. The project tokenizes US Treasuries and money-market funds, giving crypto investors access to traditional yield through products like OUSG, which wraps BlackRock’s short-term Treasury ETF into an ERC-20 token. Ondo already partners with Coinbase, Circle, and BlackRock, while operating through an SEC-registered entity (Ondo Securities LLC) — making it one of the most compliance-friendly projects in crypto. In the Trump era, with 401(k)s opening the door to alternative assets, ONDO is one of the promising candidates where institutional liquidity is most likely to flow.

Ondo chart

ONDO is testing a confluence of supports: the 0.618 retracement ($0.94), an ascending trendline, and RSI retesting its uptrend. This is a classic decision zone.

If $0.94 holds, upside targets are:

  • $1.14 — first stop (1.0 Fib).

  • $1.28 — secondary target (1.272 Fib).

  • $1.80–$2.15 — next expansion zone.

Put simply, ONDO combines regulatory alignment, institutional narrative, and a technical setup that could make it one of the first DeFi tokens to lead the altseason rotation.

Other Tokens To Add On Your Watchlist

Alongside SOL and ONDO, there’s a group of equally important names tied directly to Trump-era networks and narratives:

  • TRX (Tron): entrenched in US stablecoin rails and politically connected.

  • SUI (Sui): now part of WLFI’s strategic reserve, backed by Trump-linked investors.

  • WLFI (World Liberty Financial): Trump-branded, with an impending public listed company treasury vehicle — poised for institutional access.

  • DOGE (Dogecoin): meme wildcard with cultural staying power and Musk/Trump synergy.

These tokens aren’t “side bets” — they may be equal front-runners in the 2025 political altseason alongside Solana and Ondo.

Conclusion

Altseason 2025 isn’t dead — it’s just different. In 2021, liquidity cascaded down the curve, lifting every token in sight. In 2025, the rules have changed. Capital got heavier, slower, and filtered through political pipelines.

Trump’s policies have built a fast lane for institutional money, but that lane doesn’t lead to random microcaps. Instead it most likely leads to a curated shortlist of politically connected tokens — SOL, SUI, ONDO, LINK, TRUMP, and a handful of others with direct access to power.

Yes, there will be pumps. Yes, some tokens will run. But the dream of “buy anything and it goes 100x” is gone. The winners of this altseason may already have been portended, and the rest of the market will be left with scraps.

Retail no longer dictates rotations. Institutions do. And traders who ignore that shift will miss where the real altseason begins.
